2. Cold water face immersion
The science: Submerging your face in cold water activates the dive reflex — a hardwired mammalian response that immediately slows heart rate and redirects blood flow, triggering rapid parasympathetic activation.
How to do it: Fill a bowl (or your bathroom sink) with cold water. Take a breath, submerge your face for 15–30 seconds. How to do it: Breathe in for a count of 4. Breathe out for a count of 6 or 8. That's the whole technique. No special app needed. 7. Somatic body scan
